Big Win in Texas for Specialized Transportation

- Effective Dec. 20, DuWayne Murdock, of the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles TxPROS, raised thresholds by which single trip permits may be auto-issued 24-hours per day/7 days a week to: 20 feet wide, 18 feet - 11 inches high, 125 feet long, and 199,999 pounds gross weight. For questions or additional information, contact the Motor Carrier Division at 1-800-299-1700, options 2-5-2. States continue to report to SC&RA that every increase to their single trip auto-issue permit thresholds results in an increase in both accuracy and number of permits issued. This results in safer roads for all motorists and improved commerce for industry. Additional questions? Contact Steven Todd.
