Get the Revised Tower Crane Qualified Operator Evaluation Form

- SC&RA has revised its Tower Crane Qualified Operator Evaluation Form to include crane make and model. As a result of the November 9th publication of OSHA’s final rule on Operator training, certification and evaluation requirements, SC&RA developed Qualified Operator Evaluation forms for both tower cranes and mobile cranes.

As a reminder, employers must, through an evaluation process, ensure operators are qualified to operator the machine to which they are assigned.  The components of these evaluations are spelled out in Section 1926.1427(f) – Evaluation.  The final rule allows employers to rely on previous operator assessments to meet this requirement for operators employed prior to December 10, 2018. Evaluation and documentation requirements will become effective February 7, 2019.

The forms were developed in conjunction with the Crane & Rigging Group Safety Education & Training and Tower Crane committees.  The forms are available for download for member compliance. For more information, contact Beth O’Quinn.
