SC&RA Meets with Michigan DOT and State Police

- SC&RA represented specialized carrier interests at an Oct. 24 meeting with the Michigan Department of Transportation and the Michigan State Police. Many items were discussed including: permit turnaround time/potential for new automated system; payment up front for permits; permit revisions; permitting for height; construction restriction notifications; permit fees for over dimension only loads; permitting empty trailers, stacked trailers; permit speed limits; and shipping letters. Representing SC&RA was Dave Merrill, Pahoa Express; David Little, M.S.A. Delivery; and V.P. Steven Todd. A spring 2018 meeting is planned to follow up on discussions.
