Specialized Transportation Seeks Relief from State Line Inspections

- Last week, the Western American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials agreed to study the concept of one state line inspection for multi-state line hauls. A handful of states require hours-long inspections when hauling certain size permit loads across multiple state lines with the same load. The discussion creates the opportunity for greater collaboration between states on issues impacting specialized carriers. One positive outcome would be greater efficiency in hauling time.
