SC&RA Ladies Group
Over the years, the SC&RA Ladies Group has raised tens of thousands of dollars for the SC&R Foundation, the philanthropic arm of SC&RA. Much of this money goes directly to deserving students preparing for a career related to transportation or construction management and to fund industry specific research. The Ladies Group's biggest fundraiser, Pandora's Box, has been an integral part of SC&RA Annual Conference for nearly twenty years.
Membership benefits include two Ladies Group newsletters annually and a special Ladies Group Directory for ease in keeping up with other members.
The mission of the Ladies Group Governing Committee, one of the Association's four governing committees, is to identify issues and recommend actions to benefit members with an interest in ladies-related subjects, and, to govern the actions of the Ladies Group.
The Chair of the Ladies Group serves as a member of the SC&RA Board. The Vice Chair serves as a member of the SC&R Foundation Board. Several members of the Group are on the SC&R Foundation Board and serve on one of the five standing Foundation committees.
The twelve person Governing Committee is elected to a three-year term. Meetings are twice yearly in conjunction with SC&RA's January Board and Committee Meetings and Annual Conference. Additionally, the annual Ladies Group business meeting, open to all ladies, is held at the Annual Conference. A speaker or special program follows this business meeting/brunch.
