Successfully Blocked OSHA’s COVID-19 ETS

SC&RA joined the Construction Industry Safety Coalition (CISC) and was signatory on numerous letters fighting for its members on issues such as hazard communications, the CDC vaccine, and OSHA’s Emergency Temporary Standard. The efforts successfully blocked implementation of OSHA’s ETS for COVID-19 vaccination. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit blocked implementation of the ETS, writing in a one-page order that the rule appeared to have “grave statutory and constitutional issues.”

SC&RA, alongside over 70 other transportation and industry associations, supported Congress’ passage and full funding of the bi-partisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), the 5-year, $1 trillion federal reauthorization of highway, bridge, and other federal programs critical to our industry.

SC&RA also joined the Keep Texas Trucking Coalition in support of Texas’ successful passage of HB 19 that brought meaningful tort reform for the trucking industry to the state.
