Networking Opportunities
“Overall, there are many advantages to being an active SC&RA member. The networking opportunities alone have helped me find people to support my customers and has even brought business through my door. And it’s always reassuring to talk to another member about an operational challenge I’m having and that member tells me they have gone through it too, and shares how they were able to overcome challenges. What’s even more beneficial is when I can have a discussion with a state official at the Specialized Transportation Symposium. Hearing the state’s perspective on a matter and having permitting officials hear your challenges traveling through their state ultimately allows both sides to understand each other and work toward a common solution. I can’t get that kind of access anywhere else than SC&RA.”

Advocacy Access
“We are a trucking company that hauls predominantly OS/OW freight and SC&RA enables us to meet face to face with state and local officials from every state on a regular basis. This is incredibly beneficial, as we are able to discuss permit issues, permit improvements, current and upcoming regulations, or direct issues. By being a member, we have been able to network with fellow industry leaders and influencers. We are able to advocate for change and advancements in the permitting process that will create cohesiveness between the states. In addition, you have access to materials that are specifically designed for oversize and overweight operations. Overall, there are times when you need to call on another member to join forces to get a project completed. That’s when the benefits of belonging to SC&RA really pay off.”
