Crane & Rigging Workshop Hosts Nearly 600 Attendees This Week
(October 5,2022) - SC&RA welcomed nearly 600 attendees at the Crane & Rigging Workshop this week in Dallas, Texas. The week started off strong with committees discussing hot topics impacting their businesses and the industry. A new, free members-only resource, the
OSHA Crane Legal Defense Guide, was announced. Created exclusively for SC&RA members by attorney and OSHA expert Michael Rubin, J.D., in cooperation with the Crane & Rigging Group Safety Education and Training Committee, the Guide is now posted online under Member Resources and available in the SC&RA app. Another exciting development discussed was the SC&RA Safety Talks being converted online to provide individual safety talks for the crane, rigging, and millwright segments of the construction industry. Three sample talks are available on
SC&RA’s training site (search for Safety Talks) as a preview of the larger online course, to come in the future and produced by ITI. These initial three featured topics are: Crane Hand Signals; Basic Radio Signals; and Preventing Hand Injuries & Proper PPE. Completion of the online Safety Talks is expected by the end of the year.
