OSHA Crane Legal Defense Guide to be Unveiled at Workshop

- Created exclusively for SC&RA members by attorney and OSHA expert Michael Rubin, J.D., in cooperation with the Crane & Rigging Group Safety Education and Training Committee, the OSHA Crane Legal Defense Guide will be presented at the Crane & Rigging Workshop in Dallas, Oct. 3-5. The primary purpose of this guide is to prepare employers in the crane industry for an OSHA inspection. This includes providing practical strategies that crane rental companies can implement before, during, and after an OSHA inspection. Whereas much of the guide provides general information and guidance on the OSHA-inspection process, the Appendix includes a checklist for common OSHA crane violations under 29 CFR Part 1926, Subpart CC, as well as an overview of all crane-related training requirements under Subpart CC. Workshop attendees will get a first glimpse of the document with distribution to the general membership mid-October. For more information, contact Beth O’Quinn
