SC&RA Urges Congress to Reaffirm Longstanding Formula-Based Funding for Next Reauthorization

-SC&RA recently joined a group of national infrastructure stakeholders to urge Congress to maintain the 85/15 state/local share of federal highway formula funding. Signing on to this letter, SC&RA and other signees stated that any reduction in the 85 percent state share in the upcoming Surface Transportation Reauthorization Bill would put critical highway and bridge projects at risk of delay - as states plan and execute highway projects at a systemwide level most beneficial to interstate commerce. SC&RA members support this because not only do they lift and move the critical materials, components, and equipment necessary for highway and bridge construction, they also rely upon a safe and efficient national network of highways and bridges to operate their businesses daily. Ensuring that states continue to have the maximum ability to deliver these projects moving forward benefits SC&RA for decades to come. Read the letter.
