SC&RA Wants to Hear Your Feedback on FMCSA’s Proposed Changes to SMS

 - Earlier this year, FMCSA announced proposed changes to its Safety Measurement System (SMS) to reduce and prevent crashes. Motor carriers can visit the CSA Prioritization Preview website, log in, and preview how their own data would appear under the proposal. There has been significant conversation among SC&RA members that the very short period between the release of proposals and the federal government’s comment deadline meant many carriers have not yet taken the opportunity to see how their CSA scores may be affected.  At last week’s Annual Conference in Carlsbad, however, the Transportation Governing Group voted to support the FMCSA proposals and file comments in the affirmative by May 16.

Nonetheless, SC&RA member companies are highly encouraged to preview their prioritization results and submit any feedback on these proposed changes to Chris Smith no later than Friday, May 12, so that they can be considered in the comments.
