Western Crane Service Awarded $5,000 SC&RF Company Training Grant

-Western Crane Service has been selected as a recipient of the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Foundation (SC&RF) Company Training Grant, receiving a $5,000 award for employee NCCCO Rigging Course training and certification. The SC&RF Company Training Grant program provides financial assistance to companies that invest in upskilling/training their workforce. The program aims to ease the financial burden for members of the SC&RA.

For Western Crane Service, the grant represents an important step forward in developing a highly skilled, safety-driven workforce. “Earning NCCCO credentials demonstrates that our employees meet a nationally recognized benchmark for competency,” the company shared. “It benefits the individual, strengthens the company, and reinforces our reputation for professionalism and safety in the field.” The training also supports Western Crane Service’s long-term workforce pipeline. Certified riggers can move into higher-level projects, grow into leadership roles, and reduce the company’s reliance on outside labor. In a competitive industry facing workforce shortages, this grant helps ensure Western Crane Service remains strong, reliable, and ready to meet growing demand across Kentucky and beyond.

The SC&RF has $7,000 remaining to award in 2025. To be considered, submit an application by Dec. 1. For more information on how to apply for a Company Training Grant, click here.
