SC&RA Updates Crane Owners on Latest Advocacy Issues

- Last week, SC&RA’s Senior Vice President of Crane & Rigging, Beth O’Quinn, addressed crane owners, mobile crane operators, crane manufacturers, service providers and industry representatives in Santa Barbara, Calif., at the annual membership meetings of the Crane Owners Association and the Mobile Crane Operators Group. O’Quinn gave the latest news on OSHA’s employer evaluation of qualified operators requirement and how SC&RA’s forms for mobile cranes and tower cranes can meet this requirement. She also discussed an ongoing advocacy effort to reduce required quadrennial and annual crane certifications with load tests exceeding 100 percent of the crane’s rated capacity.
