New in Kansas: Escort Vehicle Providers Need to Register & Permit Fees Increase

- The State of Kansas now requires Escort Vehicle Companies (Escort Vehicle Service Providers) to be registered if operating in Kansas.  At a minimum, the Service Provider will be required for each vehicle to have insurance, as required by Kansas Statute 40-3104, and each driver shall have a valid license and complete a training course approved by the secretary. Escort Vehicle Service Providers can register their companies at www.k-trips.com. In addition, Kansas has received approval from Secretary Lorenz for which states it is accepting successful completion of an escort vehicle training course.  Seven states accepted are: Colorado; Florida; Minnesota; North Carolina; Oklahoma; Utah; and Washington. Kansas also noted that permit fees have increased in 2020.
