Attendees Can Benefit from One-On-One Financial Plan Review

- Registration is now open for the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association’s Financial & Risk Management Forum, Nov. 7-8, 2017, in Fairfax, Va. The event brings together CEOs, CFOs, comptrollers, owners, and safety and risk managers in the specialized transportation, crane, rigging and millwrighting industry to identify financial strategies to grow business, increase profits and eliminate inefficiencies.

The two-day conference is filled with interactive sessions, covering the latest industry issues and their financial implications. A confidential one-on-one financial plan review will be available to attendees to review company financials and 2017 Benchmark Study findings.

The 2017 Benchmark Study, sponsored by the Specialized Carriers and Rigging Foundation and underwritten by Hays Companies and Unified Logistics, measures key financial indicators of business health across the industry. The survey is confidential and administered by a third-party, Profit Soup. The study provides benchmarks that work as points of reference when attempting to determine financial and operational efficiency, which can subsequently help organizations measure performance, set goals, and monitor achievements.

SC&RA member James Sever, president and CEO of PSC Crane & Rigging, has participated in the Benchmark Study since the late 1990s and has attended Financial & Risk Management Forums in the past. “It’s extremely valuable when you can see where your company compares across the industry and country,” he said. “Even if a company did not participate in the Benchmark Study, the Forum provides the platform to begin to focus on how to incorporate best practices into your financial operations and planning.”

Financial & Risk Management Forum 2017 speakers include: John Pion and Tim Smith, managing partner and partner respectively, Pion, Nerone, Girman, Winslow and Smith; Bill Smith, executive vice president claims and risk management, NBIS; Tyrone Silva, risk manager, NBIS; Randall Johnson, vice president, Hays Companies; Douglas Birnie, managing partner, Piedmont Wealth Advisory; Jason Branciforte, shareholder, Littler Mendelson P.C.; and Mike Whitlock, president, Tannian Consulting.

“In this business climate, it’s more important than ever to give our members access to financial and benchmarking information to help increase cash flow and achieve profitability,” said SC&RA CEO Joel Dandrea. “I am confident that attendees will be able to take practical tips from the sessions and successfully apply them to their business operations.”

The Forum is sponsored by NBIS; ACE Heavy Haul, LLC; M&P Specialty Insurance; and Harry Fry & Associates.
