Former SC&RA Chairman Terry Young Passes

- Terence Lee Young, former SC&RA Chairman of the Board and President and CEO of Construction Safety Experts, passed away June 4, after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.

Headquartered in Cary, N.C., Young’s company became a leader in safety training and risk management, providing world-class services to industries that include nuclear, oil and gas, steel, pharmaceutical, chemical, power, wind power, pulp and paper, and the commercial construction industry. He was a member of SC&RA, where he served on the board of directors and as a past president. Young was also an OSHA instructor, OSHA VPP star assessor, and was the author of over seventy published safety articles. He will be remembered for his character, hard work, generosity, and down-to-earth presence.

He was the beloved husband of 11 years to his wife Lisa Jackson, and devoted dad to Madison Young and Kyle Jackson. He is also survived by two brothers, Steve Young, Jeffery Young, and a sister, Shannon (Young) Torres.

Service will be held on Friday, June 18 at 1 pm at Hope Community Church, 821 Buck Jones Road, Raleigh, NC 27606. The family asks that donations be made to the PanCan Action Network in lieu of flowers. To leave an online condolence, click here.
