Solution

SC&RA and its members renewed a five-year exemption (through 2023) from compliance with the 30-minutes rest break requirement of the agency’s HOS Rule for all qualifying OS/OW motor carriers and drivers operating mobile cranes with a rated lifting capacity of greater than 30 tons.

Updates

SC&RA members conducting OS/OW moves and drivers operating mobile cranes rated greater than 30 tons now enjoy both time and financial savings due to this exemption. This area of advocacy continues to garner support from the Association’s Crane & Rigging Group Governing Committee, Crane & Rigging Group Safety Education & Training Committee and Crane & Rigging Group Labor Committee.
