Industry Representatives Gather at 2015
International Crane Stakeholders Assembly Meeting in Perth,
Australia
The annual meeting of the ICSA, September 1,
2015 at the Crown Metropol Perth in Burswood, Western Australia was hosted by
The Crane Industry Council of Australia (CICA). This year’s meeting brought
together 20 participants from 7 countries representing industry users and
manufacturers from around the world. During the all-day meeting, users and
manufacturers split up into two sets of morning sessions and reconvened in the
afternoon to review key items of importance to the crane industry worldwide,
including:
- Review ICSA Guidance:
Leaving Mobile Cranes Unattended in [Partially] Erected Mode
- Draft ICSA Guidance:
Lifting A Load With Several Mobile Cranes (Multiple Crane or Tandem
Lifting)
- Draft ICSA Guidance:
Lifting Persons with Mobile Cranes
- Update from FEM/ESTA
Working Group European Regulations
- Update: Five years’
experience in Europe with the external rated capacity limiter (RCL) in cranes
delivered after May 2010 (EN13000)
- Design life for cranes and
crane winches
- Ground pressure from
crawler cranes with long booms (>100 m)
- Assumptions for wind
pressure/speed in relation to minimum CWT in "out of service" condition.
- “Directive 97/68/EC draft"
for new engine exhaust systems (Stage V) and the significant impact it has to
both manufacturers and users
The next ICSA Annual
Meeting will be conducted in conjunction with BAUMA 2016, April 11-17, in
Munich, Germany.
ICSA Mission:
- Facilitate information
sharing and meaningful dialogue between crane industry stakeholders on safety,
technical and regulatory issues of concern to the international crane
industry.
- Provide an environment
for, and encourage the creation of, significant networking opportunities between
industry stakeholders and promote consensus positions on behalf of the crane
industry on issues of common concern, so that ICSA members can make
representation to relevant regulatory and/or standardization bodies.
- Promote the harmonization
of international standards.
