Crane & Rigging Workshop Draws Over 600 Attendees to National Harbor

- Last week, SC&RA’s 2016 Crane & Rigging Workshop attracted over 600 participants from nine countries. With well attended committee meetings, packed educational sessions, and a sold-out Products Fair with 90 exhibitors, attendees enjoyed three full days of networking and learning.

Known as the country’s preeminent crane and rigging meeting, the Crane & Rigging Workshop brings together industry owners, manager, sales personnel, and operators and includes sessions with an emphasis on safety, regulatory standards, training, equipment maintenance, and current issues affecting the industry.

This year’s opening keynote—delivered by Dean McKenzie, Director of the Directorate of Construction, OSHA—was an informative presentation on what OSHA standards are currently under review and what the industry can expect with regard to enforcement moving forward. Among other highlights were a hands-on crane inspection, a deep dive into the ELD mandate, and a Manitowoc Cranes factory tour that drew 150 enthusiastic Workshop goers.

Don’t forget to begin planning now for the next SC&RA Crane & Rigging Workshop, to be held September 20-22, 2017, at the Sheraton Kansas City Hotel in Kansas City, MO.
