Hurricane Plans & OS/OW Recovery Efforts

- Did you know that SC&RA’s Severe Weather Guidelines for the Crane & Rigging Industry details how to prepare for a hurricane in several timeframes, as well as provide post storm procedures? As hurricane season evolves and companies look to the fall and winter months, members are encouraged to access the free, members-only SC&RA’s Severe Weather Guidelines to begin formalizing their plans to deal with severe weather. These guidelines were created for severe weather conditions including tornadoes, hurricanes, winds, thunderstorms and snow and outline job preparation before, during and after severe weather and include timelines for preparation work. This resource provides overall planning guidelines and supplement programs companies already have in place.

For members who may engage in the OS/OW movement of emergency commodities prior to and in support of disaster relief efforts related to Hurricane Idalia, SC&RA strongly encourages you to plan ahead to secure permits for these moves by keeping up to date on the latest information regarding executive orders, rule changes, waivers, and other storm related information by utilizing our  partners’ resources, including CVSA’s Emergency Declarations Portal and the Florida Trucking Association’s hurricanes website.
