SC&RA Meets with WASHTO to Discuss OS/OW Permitting Harmonization

- SC&RA’s Vice President of Transportation Chris Smith traveled to Denver this week for the biennial meeting of the WASHTO Subcommittee on Highway Transportation. Representing permit officials from 18 western states, the conference brings industry and state officials together to discuss the latest issues in OS/OW permitting harmonization and other major issues. Featured industry presenters include SC&RA members Mike Meyer (TLG), Joanna Jungels (ATS Specialized, Inc.), David Womack (Oxbo Mega Transport Solutions), and Tom Robinson (Wind Transport Solutions) with an in-depth look on the operational challenges because of lack of permit uniformity, VP of Transportation Chris Smith with an SC&RA update, and ProMiles Software Development Corporation on technology updates. SC&RA is a proud WASHTO sponsor, and thanks all state officials for opportunities to hold open discussions and collaboration with government.  WASHTO, alongside its sister organizations NASTO, SASHTO, MAASTO, and AASHTO, will meet again February 20-21 at the 2024 Specialized Transportation Symposium in Houston. Registration opens next week. For more information, contact Smith.
