SC&RA Participates in Industry Roundtable with Oklahoma DOT

- Taking advantage of over 650 members in Oklahoma’s state capital last week for the Crane & Rigging Workshop, several members of SC&RA’s Permit Policy and Transportation Governing Committees, alongside its partners at the Oklahoma Trucking Association, scheduled a 3-hour industry roundtable with Oklahoma DOT and Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troop-S officials. The meeting was hosted by ODOT at its facilities in Oklahoma City. Hot topics included several updates and advances forthcoming to the state’s award-winning OKie PROS  24/7 auto-issue permit system, OS/OW routing challenges, especially in the western panhandle, efforts to harmonize escort requirements with neighbor states, and updates on axle weight limits, including recent changes to its special mobilized machinery permits.  SC&RA again thanks Oklahoma and all its state partners for taking the time to have constructive dialogue with our industry. Attendees at the meeting included: Sarah Caylor, Omega Morgan; Paul DeLong, Paul DeLong Heavy Haul; Justin Gandy, Thru Tubing Solutions; Joanna Jungels, ATS Specialized, Inc.; Maurice Martens, Frontier Heavy Haul & Support; Jim Newport, Oklahoma Trucking Association; William McSweeney, Nomad Permits; Mike Poppe, Precision Heavy Haul; Mitch Surrett, Oklahoma DOT; and David Womack, Oxbo Mega Transport Solutions.
