SC&RA Will Hold In-Person Meetings for 2021

(October 1, 2020) - This week, SC&RA members received an email from Association CEO Joel Dandrea announcing that the trade association will proceed with their scheduled in-person meetings for 2021.

“In terms of restoring operations, one of the most difficult decisions we have been faced with is when to open our live meetings,” said Dandrea. “Based on national trends, direct member feedback, and ongoing dialogue with our hotel partners and related service providers, as well as the fundamental realities we are responding to, e.g., member needs, hotel contracts, and associated liabilities as well as financial impact and the health and effectiveness of the Association, we will move forward with in-person events in 2021.”   

The meetings, dates, and locations are:
January Board & Committee Meetings, January 6-9 Sun Valley Resort, Sun Valley, Idaho
Specialized Transportation Symposium, February 16-18, Sheraton Birmingham Hotel, Birmingham, Ala.
Annual Conference, April 12-16, La Cantera Resort, San Antonio, Texas
Crane & Rigging Workshop, September 14-16, Hyatt Regency Chicago, Chicago, Ill.

“At each SC&RA event we will follow CDC guidelines and local and state guidance including social distancing, mandatory masks, hand sanitizing stations, a no-handshake policy, and utilizing as many outdoor spaces as possible for activities,” Dandrea said.
