SC&RA & Virginia Trucking Association Host Roundtable and Discuss Data Center Market

(August 17,2023) - SC&RA and the Virginia Trucking Association hosted an Industry Roundtable at the headquarters of the Virginia DMV in Richmond August 8, to discuss several key issues facing industry transport throughout the state. A major topic included the continued growth and related power consumption of Northern Virginia’s massive data center market – already the largest in the world – and the related OS/OW commodities requiring superload transport, crane, and rigging operations.  Several member companies attended including Clyde’s Transfer Service, Inc.; Liebherr; Miller Transfer; Momentum Transportation; Palco Transportation; ProMiles; Southern Transport, Inc.; and W.O.
