SC&RA Joins 70 Other Association in Urging Trump to Pass Infrastructure Bill for COVID-19 Recovery

- SC&RA has signed a letter to President Donald J. Trump, along with 70 other organizations, urging passage of an infrastructure bill as a positive means for a post-coronavirus rebound for the economy.

“SC&RA is committed to the advancement of a multi-year highway, transit and safety program
reauthorization investment in our nation’s infrastructure,” said CEO Joel Dandrea. “An infrastructure package will keep jobs in our industry for the next several years and help spur sales of trucks, trailers, cranes and all related construction equipment and gear.”

Dandrea contends a highway bill is way overdue and has been the subject of considerable pressure from dozens of lobbying and advocacy groups over the past several years. “For years, politics and questions about funding have prevented movement, but now there is bipartisan interest in infrastructure funding as it relates to COVID-19 recovery,” he added.

SC&RA expects President Trump and Treasury Secretary Mnuchin to push for infrastructure funding in the coming days. “We all know what that could mean for the economy and we’ll do our best to make sure members of Congress from both parties have the facts and ongoing support from our Association.”
